based on leaked information from Iraqi electoral officials who could not wait to rejoice, Iraqi referendum has passed!
Initial results from the Iraqi constitutional referendum leaked by Iraqi electoral officials Oct. 22 show that 16 of the country's 18 provinces approved the document, which would be sufficient for the referendum to pass. The figures show the vast majority of voters in the Sunni-dominated provinces of Salah ad Din and Anbar rejecting the charter. The commission said that turnout was about 63 percent and that Sunni voters participated in much larger numbers than in January's parliamentary elections.
