"A lot will depend on the outcome of the assessment," he said.
At present all the company's research work is done in Sweden, though the products are tailored for the different markets in close cooperation with the company's teams in these markets.
Earlier, speaking to journalists, General Manager of Sony Ericsson's India operations, Sudhin Mathur refused to comment on whether the company was planning to set up a manufacturing facility in India.
"At present our manufacturing facility in China is able meet the Indian demand," he said, adding the company's market share in India was growing.
The company is planning to unveil its latest products across the entire range at the second Mobile Expo that would be held in Pragti Maidan here from October 21 to October 24.
He said the new products will exhibit convergence of technologies in both entry level and the high-end segment.
