Oct. 11, 2005

It is a breakthrough for Indian engineering. For the first time Indian farm equipments penetrate the American and Canadian markets.

Tractor manufacturer Escorts Ltd on Friday said its US subsidiary Farmtrac North America LLC has tied up with European major SAME Deutz - Fahr Italia S.p.A to market their entire range of tractors in US and Canada.

"This deal would also enable Farmtrac, the only non-MNC tractor manufacturer, to offer a complete range of 25 to 130 horsepower tractors through our channel," Farmtrac North America LLC President and CEO Vijay Raina said in a release.

Farmtrac North America markets tractors in 32 states and has the largest dealer network among all non-major brands in the US. The two companies had earlier tied up in July 2005 for SAME to contract manufacture 75-115 HP tractors for Farmtrac which was to be sold in North and South America under the Farmtrac brand name, it said.
