Indian remote viewers see illegal re-routing of international telephone calls – massive investigations against major telecoms started
In another interesting example of application of remote viewing, signal intelligence and field information, Indian premier crime branch has started massive investigations against major telecoms.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) against Reliance Infocomm, alleging its illegal re-routing of international telephone calls.
Other telecoms are also being investigated quietly.
The PE was registered on September 15 by the Economic Offences wing of the CBI’s Chennai branch. It alleges that Reliance Infocomm ‘‘manipulated’’ Caller Line Identification (CLI) system for international calls.
Contacted in Mumbai, a Reliance Infocomm spokesman said that he had ‘‘no comments to offer.’’
After examining documents and files supplied by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the Department of Telecom (DoT), the CBI has alleged that the alleged manipulation done by Reliance Infocomm at gateways in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata resulted in loss of revenue of ‘‘several hundreds of crores’’ to Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). This was because, the agency says, the Access Deficit Charge of Rs 4.25 per minute due for international calls was not paid.
The registration of the PE, agency sources said, would be followed by verification of documents and questioning of Reliance Infocomm and Government officials after which the case may be converted into a Regular Case (RC).
