India must sack corrupt BCCI and build a patriotic team – Indian cricket exposed as most corrupt - Ganguly-Dalmia group fighting with the rest
Indian cricket is now exposed as the most corrupt sports organization. I was writing many columns in India Daily that the Indian players and the cricket organizers consider cricket as a cash cow for personal monetary benefits. It is time for India to step in, sack BCCI, sack all players and rebuild a patriotic team – not some money mongers losing game after game!
Raj Singh Dungarpur, erstwhile BCCI supremo, has accused the Jagmohan Dalmiya-led group of orchestrating the leaking of the Sourav Ganguly-slamming e-mail that Team India coach Greg Chappell sent to Ranbir Singh Mahendra.
According to media sources, going hammer and tongs after Sourav Ganguly and Jagmohan Dalmiya, Dungarpur, former BCCI President and currently in the camp of Sharad Pawar, said that Sourav must quit as skipper of the team. He did make a concession that there was still room for him in the ODI squad.
Alleging that the members of the BCCI were ‘purchasable commodities, Dungarpur said that the Ganguly-Dalmia duo were responsible for the current rut in the team and the administration.
It was alleged that the BCCI president leaked the report to take the attention away from the BCCI poll wherein Maharashtra strongman, NCP’s Sharad Pawar was highly favored to win.
Also, since Dalmiya has made no secret, over the years, for his closeness with the Ganguly family, the publicising of the mail would have the added benefit of painting Chappell in the black.
With the media and the country as a whole agog over the coach-skipper duel, Dalmiya was able to circumvent the holding of the election and even getting it postponed by two months.
It gives Dalmiya time to get a deal in his favor that includes retaining Mehendra as BCCI president for a year and Pawar taking up the post after that.
