Saurav Chappell tussle is a show of force within BCCI to bring discipline in Team India

Sources close to BCCI board tells me Saurav Chappell tussle is much more than what it look like. Within the board, there is two factions. One support the ongoing attitude of Indian players that they deserve the money they get no matter what is the outcome of the team. The other faction wants to discipline the team – Cricket first and money is just to compensate your time.

The biggest problem with Indian Cricket is that the players while playing for the country have been accustomed of thinking big money. Indian skipper Saurav for example thinks more about his restaurant and other business plans that Cricket. That should not be the case. These players should play Cricket for Cricket – not Cricket for money.

Chappell is being used as a coach to bring Indian team back to basics. The team is talented but unmistakably commercialized to the point that they cannot concentrate and win a game!

Greg Chappell and some in BCCI board wants to change that.
