Indian cricket needs a fresh start – focus on personal gains of players before the team’s success is the main cause for failure
Indian cricketers like Saurav Ganguli is more interested in opening restaurants in Kolkata than focusing on cricket and making team India the winner. The other players are also counting money instead of focusing on games.
Finger point to the captain or coach is easy but in reality the whole team is in trouble because the main purpose of cricket – team spirit is gone. The newer and younger players are focused but the senior players are busy thinking about what will happen when they retire.
Indian cricket needs a fresh start. It should start from home. First, these are players, not Gods. No need to worship them – just let them play some good cricket. They are doing everything but playing good cricket.
Zimbabwe is not a team that India can proudly say “we defeated them hands down.” Just like in Hockey, Indian cricket has gone nowhere in recent days other that some surprise results in Pakistan last year.
”Sack Ganguly, he's pretty ordinary” says Wasim Akram the former Pakistan captain.
Sacking Ganguli will not solve the problem. Somehow the Indian cricket players must realize this is sports – not money making casinos.
