Bush Administration may not agree but South Korea is trying to accommodate North Korea with a hope that North Korea will eventually agree to cooperate.
South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon will travel to the United States to discuss with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice the possibility of allowing North Korea a civilian nuclear program, Ban said Aug. 17. The meeting will take place Aug. 23. Ban said that there was no major difference between Seoul's and Washington's views on Pyongyang's civilian nuclear potential.
