Sri Lanka is about to burst into flames of civil war. The recent assassination of Sri Lanka foreign minister has made the Sri Lanka Government skeptical.
The Sri Lankan government seeks a "review" of its cease-fire with the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), an anonymous official source told the British Broadcasting Corp. on Aug. 17. The government has blamed LTTE for the Aug. 12 assassination of Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, but LTTE has denied responsibility. The LTTE has said it wishes to keep the cease-fire terms, which came into effect in February 2002.
