World experiencing 80% rise in earthquakes - A big earthquake hits Japan – serious concern on Tsunami – Polar reversal blamed
It was a massive earthquake in Japan. It injured at least 26 people, triggered a tsunami warning and swayed towering buildings in the heart of Tokyo.
Japan's bullet trains and a nuclear power plant were automatically shut down after the quake, which measured 7.2 on the Richter scale, jolted the ocean floor off Miyagi prefecture 300 kilometres north of Tokyo.
The biggest problem, according to sources is that the tectonic plate shifts have increased the number of serious earthquakes in the past one year by 80% and the rate is exponentially increasing.
Scientists are blaming the Polar reversal and these will continue till 2012.Very rarely the Sun and the Earth simultaneously reverses polarity. That is exactly what is happening now. When this happens catastrophes happen in the earth. If history is a guide of anything, these earthquakes and volcanoes will continue to increase till 2012.
Prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, who is in the middle of a re-election battle, rushed back to his office where a crisis management center was set up.
"It was a big earthquake. I would like our party to place top priority on earthquake measures," Koizumi was quoted by Jiji press as telling a party official.
