Sonia Gandhi confesses promises made to Indian people before coming to power have not been fulfilled by Congress led UPA Government
“Why not. Why not” retorted the Congress leader when reporters asked her if she agreed with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s Red Fort address on Monday that he would complete all the promises in the Common Minimum Program within ten years?
Sonia Gandhi questioned his own party why the Common Minimum Program promised to India’s common people have not been made to any extent. It is sad that Congress promised all that to poor people of rural India and really forgot about them after coming to power.
The Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday expressed confidence that the party-led UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh would fulfill its promises made to people in the next few years.
International think tanks feel India can never fufill the promises because the promises itself were unrealistic. If the Government tries to fulfill the promises, it will first have to choke the liberalization program in terms of trade and Foreign Direct Investment, Second it has to bear a sever financial burden that will choke India’s growth.
The Communists in India popularly known as Left Parties are forcing Congress to implement some of what was promised to common poor people in the rural India to get their votes. But it is too little and too late.
Fact of the matter is Indian political parties work for the Indian oligarchs – the few rich families that feed these politicians. Whether it is BJP or Congress they come to power with money from these oligarchs and work for these rich oligarchs. Common people of India get little.
