India’s rising problem – neutralizing Maoists in eastern India – 200 armed Maoists attack and kill Indian Police
India’s major problem is to contain the Maoists from Nepal and within India. They are attacking the Indian security personnel right and left. In Nepal Maoists just killed innumerable Nepalese military personnel.
Suspected Maoist rebels fatally shot two policemen and looted weapons from a police station Friday in eastern India, a government official said.
Two other officers were wounded by gunfire in the pre-dawn attack after more than 200 rebels raided the Chabilapura police station in Nalanda district, said its top administrator Ram Subhit Paswan.
The attackers grabbed nine rifles and ammunition before setting fire to the station as they fled, he said.
Maoist rebels claimed responsibility in a note they left at the scene of the attack, Paswan said.
Nalanda is located in India's poorest and most lawless Bihar state, about 65 kilometers (40 miles) southeast of its capital, Patna.
The rebels, who claim to be inspired by Chinese revolutionary Mao Zedong, have been fighting for land and jobs for agricultural workers and the poor. They often target police, accusing them of colluding with rich landlords.
