U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents have been selling cocaine seized in raids: Venezuelan Gen. Melvin Lopez Hidalgo
It is hard to believe but that is exactly what Venezuelan Gen. Melvin Lopez Hidalgo, director of the National Defense Council and a close associate of President Hugo Chavez, said Aug. 11. He said Aug. 11 that U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents have been selling cocaine seized in raids. He said he had evidence but declined to be specific except to say that there were differences between the initial declared weight of a cocaine shipment seized in a raid and the final official weight tallied at the drugs'' final destination. He also charged that agents disobeyed legally established procedures in the Andean region for drug-sting operations.
The relationship between US and Venezuela is worsening every day. How long will America tolerate? Experts in International politics agree that nothing will happen now. But in future, things can turn ugly for Venezuela.
