Pakistan test fires radar evading nuke ready cruise missile – did the guidance system fail?
According to the missile experts, something may have gone wrong in Pakistan strategic missile test. According to Pakistan, on Aug. 11 Pakistan successfully test fired a Babar cruise missile that is invisible to radar and capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads up to 310 miles, an army spokesman said. Pakistan did not inform India that it was planning to conduct the test because cruise missiles are not covered in the pre-notification agreement on ballistic missile tests between the countries, the spokesman said.
But there are questions about their guidance system. A short range nuke loaded radar evading cruise missile with faulty guidance system can be catastrophic for Pakistan Army, Pakistan population and the untargeted population of the adversary. The purpose of this test is to keep India at bay so that conventional military superiority does not make a difference for strategic defense of Pakistan. However ever since Pakistan has developed the missile capabilities with the help of the Chinese and North Koreans, their guidance systems are less than perfect. The Chinese did not provide Pakistan the guidance systems because it is kind of strategic.
