China and Russia get ready for historic Sino-Russian military exercise

Russia and China is getting ready for the historic Sino-Russian military exercises. Russian Air Force Commander Vladimir Mikhailov said Aug. 10 that air force units have begun moving to China in preparation for joint exercises beginning Aug. 18. Seven Il-76 transport aircraft carrying a reinforced company of the 76th Airborne Division departed on Aug. 10, to be followed shortly by six more. A total of 1,800 Russian troops are set to participate in the joint exercise, which will take place in the area around the Shandong Peninsula.

According to sources, the Western nations including United States will be closely watching the exercises. According to International think tanks, the exercise will really make the two huge military organizations ready for joint operations in the future.
