In the middle of serious suspicion India and Pakistan continues talks on confidence-building measures
Recent terror attacks in India especially Ayodhya and Kashmir makes India suspicious of Pakistani intensions. Pakistan is also suspicious of India bringing in the US and UK into Kashmir. Indian Air Chief S.P. Tyagi said that India was going to hold joint air power exercises with US air forces in Kashmir in coming November and by the start of next year with the British air force. The signal has reached Pakistan. They are now busy scrambling to the strategic drawing board to understand the impact of this major announcement. In the middle of all these India and Pakistan continues their peace talks.
India and Pakistan began a second round of expert-level talks on conventional confidence-building measures (CBMs) in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Aug. 8. The talks are intended to move the peace process forward between the countries following successful meetings over nuclear CBMs that concluded Aug. 6. The first round of talks on conventional CBMs was held in Islamabad in December 2004. The two sides will begin two days of minister-level talks Aug. 9 on expanding commercial and economic cooperation.
