Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz has called off a visit to Washington, D.C., due to tensions with the U.S. over Israeli arms sales to China, Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported July 27. The United States has restricted its $2 billion in annual military aid since Israel agreed to sell technologically advanced weaponry to the Chinese; an Israeli Defense Ministry spokesman said that his country was continuing an "informative and discreet dialogue" over the issue.
