Venezuela and Cuba are interfering in the internal affairs of Bolivia and other Latin American countries in an attempt to destabilize democratically elected governments, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roger Noriega said on July 27. Noriega said that "strong evidence" exists of this destabilizing interference by Cuba and Venezuela throughout the region.
