The BJP and Left parties ready to knock congress led UPA down in a joint punch?
The test of real democracy in India is coming. The opposition led by BJP and the Communists of India are up in arms to knock congress led UPA Government down in the coming months in India.
The Left is upset on economic policies, closeness to America and the West, divesture of Government companies and lack of help for the poor and especially those in the rural sector. The BJP upset with silent agreements with America, praising British Raj by Prime Minister of India, lack of vigil on terrorism sponsored by Pakistan and Al-Queda in India and the issue of Congress allowing illegal immigration from Bangladesh to gain minority Islamic votes in upcoming elections.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wants to sooth it down with special meetings and so on. The country is also questioning if the congress leadership is Western agents who sold India cheap!
The biggest question is that if BJP can really work with the Left to knock congress down? In that case will Sonia Gandhi accept the defeat in the parliament or will take over the nation with emergency rule like that of Mrs. Gandhi in late seventies?
According to think tanks, BJP and Left are ideologically traditional enemies. That is what is feeding the congress, which is otherwise not that popular. But can the ideological enemies combine strength and defeat congress? The experts say yes. If the perception is that the current UPA Government are selling India cheap to the West, other than military rule there is no other way Congress can stay in power. But the Indian military may not decide to get involved and may ask the Congress to go for election.
