Pakistan suspicious India’s new adventure into Pakistan with America behind India – talk of war in the middle of the peace process
With America behind India, will India take advantage by poking Pakistan here and there? Well that may be a little measured tit for tat giving back Pakistan what it was giving India so many years.
It makes Pakistan worried and Pakistan has already calling words of war with India.
According to media sources, in an obvious reference to India, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said if any external power attacks the country, Pakistan will pay back in the same coin.
"Pakistan is not in any arms race nor does it want to launch a military offensive against any country. However, a tit for tat response will be given if any external power casts an evil eye on our country," he was quoted as saying by Online news agency.
The statement comes in the wake of a complaint by Islamabad against "intrusion" of Indian troops across the Line of Control (LOC) and an agreement between India and US on enhancing their friendship, which included cooperation in the civilian nuclear field.
Aziz, addressing the concluding session of first National Youth Convention held here on Tuesday, said Pakistan had nuclear power. "We are spending our resources on our defense."
At the same time, he spoke of resolving the Kashmir dispute with India through negotiations.
"The resolution of the Kashmir issue in a peaceful manner is top priority of our foreign policy," he added.
The Pakistan Foreign Office had formally lodged a complaint on Tuesday with India against the "intrusion" of Indian troops across the Line of Control (LOC) and abduction of a civilian in Pak-occupied Kashmir (POK).
However, India denied the allegation saying that there was no truth in the charge.
This is for the third time since the ceasefire along LOC came into operation in November 2003 that charges of violation have been leveled. Indications are that the latest episode is the outcome of the ongoing anti-infiltration operations by the Indian forces close to the LOC.
