India’s outsourcing boom continues with more America based IT companies joining the Bangalore bandwagon.

According to media sources, The US-headquartered C-COR today announced that it has set up a new facility here to support the NASDAQ-listed firm's rapid growth and expansion plans in India for one of its business units - C-COR Solutions.

C-COR in India has grown from 40 people last year, to a 60-people outfit and the manpower is proposed to be ramped up to double its size in the next couple of years, company executives told a news conference here.

The company also announced Wednesday the opening of a sales office to cater to the Indian and neighbouring markets for its entire range of products, across the three business units of C-COR.

Bangalore-based C-COR Solutions Pvt Ltd is the India subsidiary of C-COR Solutions, one of the three business units of C-COR, a worldwide provider of broadband transport products, software systems, and technical services.

The Bangalore centre will focus on end-to-end product design, development and delivery activities for multiple C-COR Solutions products, the executives said.

President of C-COR Solutions Michael Pohl said the new Bangalore facility is a key centre in continuing and expanding development and support of the C-COR Solutions products.

"The team will also contribute to the various initiatives across C-COR divisions for development and delivery of its products worldwide", Pohl said.

He said engineers at the company's Bangalore facility have in-depth expertise in the broadband domain and would focus on `subscriber fulfillment'', workforce and content management products.
