Can RSS ever reverse BJP’s ideological erosion? Can Hindutva ever dominate personal agenda of the BJP leaders – RSS wonders?
Preetam Sohani
Jul. 11, 2005

The RSS leadership is making a last ditch effort to rescues BJP from total collapse. Sources said the RSS had insisted on reverting to the "one man, one post" rule in the BJP whereby Advani would have to give up one of his posts - either that of party president or as leader of opposition. The RSS was reportedly keen to enlist Vajpayee's support against Advani, especially since the widely respected former prime minister was among the first to come out in support of Advani after the Jinnah controversy.

The RSS is gunning for Advani since his statement in Karachi terming Jinnah secular and saying that the 1947 partition of the subcontinent could not be undone - both being against the RSS'' avowed ideology.

But can RSS really achieve the reversal BJP’s ideological erosion? Can Hindutva ever dominate personal agenda of the BJP leaders?

Not quite says Political think tanks in India. Eventually, BJP will have to be completely revamped with new leadership. The struggle to change BJP has just started.
