According to some think tanks Al-Queda has transformed itself from a terror organization to “Islamic Army”. They are active in Iraq, Philippines, and Indonesia and now rumors are floating they are also active in the Southern parts of Thailand.

Thousands of Buddhist teachers and other residents of Thailand's predominantly Muslim southern states are fleeing the area due to 19 months of unrelenting sectarian violence, government officials said July 5. In an effort to stop the exodus of teachers, the Education Ministry is offering 3,000 free flak jackets and is issuing gun licenses more quickly so teachers can arm themselves.
