Russia and China proceed with military cooperation while India signs a 10-year defense agreement with America
In an interesting and strategic international development, China and Russia agreed to cooperate with each other in the matter of defense and fighting the terrorists. At the same time India and America agreed to cooperate with each other in missile defense and other defense cooperation.
The United States and India on June 29 signed a 10-year defense agreement that will allow for technology sharing and cooperative research and development. Both nations agreed to collaborate in areas relating to missile defense.
Russia and China will sign an agreement in late July on the status of forces involved in a military exercise between the two nations, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said June 29. The exercise is named Cooperation 2005 and will focus on combating terrorist attacks. It is scheduled for Aug. 18-25 and will have three stages. The first stage will be held in Vladivostok, Russia, from Aug. 18 to 19 and will consist of military-political consultations between Russian and Chinese Generals. At least 3,000 Russian and 5,000 Chinese soldiers are to participate.
