Daylight bribes and corruption - Congress Party and BJP both should be punished for using private company jets for party members’ travel
It is nothing but accepting bribes in the day light of Nariman Point, Mumbai in front of the whole lot of people. It is wrong for any political party to use corporate jets and not pay for it.
In a retaliatory move to justify the use of jet aircraft from Reliance Company for UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi's controversial visit to Russia, the Congress said most of the top BJP leaders, including former Prime Minister, utilized aircraft owned by private companies and never paid the bills. Belatedly, the Congress sought to absolve itself from any blame by putting the onus on SPG for selecting the aircraft from Reliance Company.
Accusing the BJP leaders of committing the same sin, Congress spokesman Anand Sharma on Friday asked senior BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha to inquire as to how Jaswant Singh travelled from Tel Aviv to New Delhi recently to attend a party meeting in Delhi. Singh had rushed back by flying in a jet owned by Reliance Company, he alleged.
He threatened to release the list of BJP leaders who enjoyed free air trips of private companies including Reliance group. Asked whether Congress paid the bill for Sonia Gandhi trip to Moscow, the spokesman said the party had made initial payment of Rs. 12 Lakh to Reliance by check.
