Nepal Maoists abducted 1000 school children and many teachers and hiding them in unknown location – time for international action?
Sudhir Chadda
Jun. 10, 2005

It is really high time that UN Security Council take some serious action in Nepal. The Maoists have abducted more than 1000 students and many teachers to brainwash them Maoist ideology in unknown locations.

Groups of armed Maoist rebels abducted 1,000 students and teachers from different schools in western Nepal, planning to forcefully indoctrinate them into rebel ideology, the daily newspaper The Rising Nepal reported June 9. The rebels took 150 students and two teachers by force from the Shankar Secondary School at Bahun Thana in the Jajarkot district. Eight hundred and fifty students and teachers are missing from 11 other schools. The rebels'' destination is unknown.

But there is a limit to terrorizing the local communities in Nepal. The United nation should act. They should give an ultimatum to release these children now or take appropriate actions!

The civilized world should not stay pat and watch this horrible violations of human rights unfold.

The King of Nepal is also responsible for these. His outright denial of democracy is just fueling the terror activities of the Maoists.

It is time for action. It is time to give notice to both the King and Maoists. People of Nepal need help. They need the world to rise up and challenge those who are creating mess of their life.
