King of Nepal now eager to bring democracy back in Nepal
Babu Ghanta
May 28, 2005

for democracy in Nepal.

Nepalese King Gyanendra said May 28 that elections at all levels will be held in the Himalayan kingdom in phases. In a speech delivered late May 27, the 57-year-old Gyanendra said preparations had begun for organizing the elections. He did not provide a timetable, however.

Something else may have triggered it too. There is persistent rumor that Maoists are in direct secret talks with Indian Government. As a matter of people in Kathmandu express openly that Maoists representatives are in New Delhi for direct negotiation with India.
