More kisses from Meera in Bollywood
Meera promises more kisses and lip locked smooches in the Bollywood. She is the best of South Asian cinema!
Does the name Rubab Ansari ring any bells? Ansari’s mom Bushra is counted among Pakistan’s most wanted stars and despite her reservations, Rubab has wrapped up her debut film in India, which is also ready for release.
Okay, so here goes: Rubab’s screen name is Meera. The pouty Pakistani beauty who stirred many controversies thanks to her (in)famous smooch sequence with Ashmit Patel in Soni Razdan’s directorial debut Nazar, is ready to hit the screen.
Looking back are there any regrets about that kiss sequence?
"As an actress I have no inhibitions on screen. That doesn’t mean I am willing to go to any lengths to prove my point. I know where to draw a line. I represent Pakistan in India and let me assure everyone I would never demean my culture. The ''''kiss sequence'''' is part of the storyline and should not be seen in isolation," points out Meera. Meera admits that the reason she immediately wanted to do Nazar was because the "script was fabulous."
What has it been like working with Soni Razdan?
"She’s a very focused film-maker. We knew what we had to do right from the beginning."
And Ashmit, her smooch partner?
“He’s a very hardworking young actor and a sweet person. We share good working vibes, no more, no less.”
