Diverting solar flares – a new sophistication in modern warfare
Diverting solar flares to adversary’s technology infrastructure can cause havoc for the enemy.
The most violent events on the surface of the Sun are sudden eruptions called solar flares. Flares typically last a few minutes and can release energies equivalent to millions of hydrogen bombs. Flares become frequent near sunspot maximum, when smaller flares can occur daily and large flares can occur about once a week.
During a flare the material in the flare may be heated to temperatures of 10 million K; matter at these temperatures emits copious amounts of UV and X-Ray, as well as visible light. In addition, flares tend to eject matter, primarily in the form or protons and electrons, into space at velocities that can approach 1000 km/second. These events are called coronal mass ejections, and produce bursts in the solar wind that influence much of the rest of the Solar System, including the Earth.
The solar wind has a significant influence on our ionosphere, the Earth's magnetic field, on Earth's auroras, and on telecommunication systems.
The telecommunication satellites can be easily fried with the solar wind. In many countries defense research scientists and engineers are working on models by which solar wind and flares can be diverted to enemy’s high tech warfare to make the enemy electronically blind.
High density Electromagnetic pulsing technology in conjunction with artificial ionization can be used to divert the solar winds and flares. It cannot be done through the geo-stationary or other satellites. But ground based station can influence the magnetosphere and the ionosphere of the earth to divert the solar flares towards enemy military hardware to make the enemy electronically deaf and blind.
The energy needed to divert even small amount of Solar flare is huge. A military satellite can be quietly made useless by diverting a small amount of solar flare.
One theory that many scientists are working on is the concept of using the Moon or Mars to influence the earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere secretly.
That may make sense once abundance alternate energy (Solar can be it!) is found in Mars or Moon.
