Newsweek retracts the Koran desecration story that cause violent uprising against pro-American interests all over the world

The world saw a very serious uprising the Islamic countries because of a story in NewsWeek magazine.

Newsweek magazine on May 15 said its May 9 report that said U.S. interrogators desecrated the Koran at Guantanamo Bay is inaccurate. The article started protests across the Muslim world, particularly violent in Afghanistan, where riots broke out and 16 people were killed. Newsweek said the information came from a "knowledgeable government source" who claimed he had seen a report that described the Koran incident. Newsweek apologized to the victims of the violent protests.
