American Live cattle future ready for a rise
Live cattle futures in America dropped after a mad cow disease was detected last year. Since then the American cattle market is building solid bases. President Bush is fighting hard for the Cattle farmers in America. Japan banned American cattle after the detection of the mad cow disease. The Canadians have theoretically gained access to the American market. But that is not bearish for the American cattle markets. The Brazilian and Australian cattle were the favorite for the last one year.
Things are changing as US Government is trying its best to make sure that the world favors American Cattle over others.
One thing good about the current American Administration is that if it believes in something, it tries very hard to get it done. The US Administration is determined to reduce the US trade deficit. Many countries are eager to buy American now to show that they are working hard to avoid a huge trade surplus with America.
And they can buy US cattle. The futures prices have build the base and is headed for a twenty to thirty percent rise over the next six months.
One thing can derail the move is the fact there are some possibilities that another mad cow case will be detected. The demand and supply command higher prices. However nothing in futures market can be certain.
If you buy cattle futures in Chicago Mercantile Exchange, make sure you back it up with some protective puts. Live cattle market is volatile and very sensitive to news.
