Iran tries again to convince the Europeans on Nuclear issues but international think tanks look towards UN Security Council for sanctions
Iran’s back is against the wall. It is being pressured by the Europeans to abandon all nuclear weapons issues. But Iran is trying to go ahead with nuke capabilities by hook or crook. But they do not want to deal with the UN Security Council with Americans in there.
Iran is willing to hold talks before it makes a final decision on resuming uranium enrichment, and has accepted a European offer for a meeting to reduce tensions, the Washington Post reported May 13, quoting an unnamed senior Iranian diplomat. The diplomat said Tehran had not yet made a decision about resuming nuclear activity and had responded positively to the offer of a meeting sent in the letter from the European Union, but that it wants the meeting held in Tehran. European diplomats told the newspaper the European Union wants guarantees that Tehran is serious about keeping the suspension before it sends a delegation to the Iranian capital.
Iran will acquire the technological capability to fashion a nuclear bomb within six to nine months, Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom told Israel Radio on May 13. "The important question is not whether they will have a bomb in 2009, 2010 or 2011, but when they will have the know-how to produce a bomb," he said.
