India – Sri Lanka One Day International Series in September
Ajit Parker
May 8, 2005

The world cannot wait for the India-Sri Lanka postponed ODI cricket series.

According to recent media reports, Sri Lanka may tour India in a five-match limited overs cricket series in September, a Sri Lankan cricket official said Sunday.

The series, originally scheduled for April 22-May 4, was postponed after Indian officials said Sri Lanka had failed to confirm the tour itinerary.

"We have looked at the Indian calendar and our calendar. I think we should be able to play around September if India agrees," Sri Lanka's cricket interim committee secretary Tryphon Mirando said Sunday.

Interim committee chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa is scheduled to leave for India Wednesday to attend an Asian Cricket Council meeting, and he is expected to discuss and finalize the new itinerary with officials there.

India will travel to Sri Lanka in August for a tri-nation limited-overs series also involving the West Indies.
