Eight Bangladeshi terrorists caught in India – Bangladesh wants them back – are these terrorists or special operations covert Bangladeshi military personnel?
Eight hardcore Islamic terrorists were nabbed in West Bengal. Immediately, Bangladesh Rifles wanted them back from Indian Border Security Forces (BSF), BSF refused and handed them over to Indian police. This is just tip of the iceberg. Islamic Jihadists and Al-Queda operatives from Bangldesh are coming in scores into West Bengal, Tripura and Assam. They are Bangladesh’s seeping cells ready to make havoc in India.
The local communists Government who are eager to receive Muslim votes knowing very well all these are taking little action. In these states, the net result is that local militias are getting ready to take these Bangladeshis out.
According to media reports, Bangladesh has requested India to hand over the eight terrorists arrested near Indian border with Bangladesh. Bangladesh Rifles [BDR] got in touch with Indian Border Security Force [BSF] immediately after the arrest on Thursday [5 May].
Colonel Hossain Shahid, director of BDR Operation in Dhaka, told Prothom Alo that he got in touch with BSF head quarter after receiving the arrest news. He spoke to them over telephone and later sent a formal letter. Initially BSF gave them assurance that the detainees would be handed over. Later BSF said the detainees were handed over to Indian police. Colonel Hossain Shahid said BSF could easily push them across Bangladesh border. But they chose not to do it and have made the hand over process complicated.
Our Kolkata correspondent says those eight Bangladeshi terrorists were arrested from a residential hotel at Bongaon in North Chabbish Porgona, India. Nabir Hossain Nabi from Mohammedpur Dhaka, Shahid from old Dhaka, Selim from Kafrul, Dhaka, Babu from Mirpur, Dhaka, Babu from Agargaon, Dhaka and Helal are among them [name as transliterated]. The names of the other two could not be obtained. They were taken to Kolkata interrogation office last Thursday. They were handed back to Bongaon Police yesterday.
Ten mobile phones, three gold watches, five bottles of phensidyl [kind of cough syrup], 940 Indian rupee, 2,726 Bangladeshi taka, 300 dollars, some euros and Singaporean dollars were confiscated from them. [passage omitted]
BSF says the detainees have Bangladeshi passports. They have been renewing their visa using agents. That is how they have been staying at Bongaon for last eleven months. They were staying at a hotel called Matri Mondir for last 12 days. It is alleged they have been using Bangladeshi mobile telephone sim cards to keep in touch with Bangladesh on a regular basis. The officials at Deputy High Commission Bangladesh in Kolkata say they are making enquiries on the arrest.
