Koena Mitra confesses fantasy of Bollywood male hood in big numbers!
Koena just cannot wait. She confesses with simplicity and straightforwardness. The Bengali Bombshell is eager for Bollywood male fantasies in big numbers!
Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan and now Fardeen Khan - Koena Mitra is certainly in Hunk Heaven. And the Bengali Bombshell enjoys having so many industry men crowding her life.
"I was lucky that I got the chance to work with senior actors like Anil (Kapoor) and Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) in Musafir. This is just the beginning of my career and I got to learn so much from them. They were always so willing to help. I’ve never shied away from asking for help whenever I found myself in a tight spot," she says. Koena also looks fondly upon her association with Ajay Devgan in Insaan, even though the film didn’t do well at the box office.
"Ajay is such an intense actor. One simply learns by watching him. Insaan was a multi-starrer and had Akshay, Lara, Esha and Tushar in lead roles. It flopped nevertheless and I still don’t know what went wrong. The most important thing for me was to work with a respected filmmaker like Raj Kumar Santoshi. I just couldn’t refuse someone like him, that too so early in my career," she insists.
The sultry actress is hoping for better luck with her newest co-star, Fardeen Khan. "Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina is my first big break as a solo heroine. The film is about a conman played by Fardeen. There are quite a few other guys with him in the act and I play a psychiatrist. While I can’t tell you much at this stage, here's a little hint - you watch the film and you will be left wondering who is conning whom," she quips.
Koena is understandably reluctant to choose her favourite reel life hero. According to her, every man is special in his own way. "Anil is a teacher. He makes me rehearse my lines and scenes. He will also make me re-dub if he finds me faltering at any word or scene. For instance, there was a scene in Musafir where he noticed I hadn’t done my best. He called me aside and asked me to go and re-dub it, helping out with the lines and the pronunciations. Anil is the kind of man who would take care of all his co-stars to make sure that things turn out perfect. He never restricts himself to just his own lines or shots."
She shared great chemistry with Dutt in the Saaki number from Musafir and it showed, says Koena. "Sanju is a bindaas guy. He immediately makes you feel at ease as does not let his star persona rule him. There's no pressure when you work with Sanjay Dutt. Saaki turned out to be such a great song because of the comfort level we shared. He was also fantastic as a producer. He truly has a large heart," she raves.
