Horse trading of Member of Legislative Assembly continues in Bihar in the middle of total lawlessness - LJP promises new formula for Bihar Government
People in Bihar are eager for a stable Government that respect civilized norms. The youth in Bihar wait for day when can safely come back home from schools and colleges without being kidnapped. The girls in Bihar want safety and dignity. In the middle of these horse-trading of MLAs in Bihar continues with full rigor.
Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Sunday set up a committee to explore new formulas to form a government in Bihar in a week. However, Paswan said the LJP still favoured forming a government minus the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He told reporters that the committee would consult like-minded parties for support.
"The LJP committee to explore new formulas for formation of a government will submit its final suggestions within a week," said Paswan, after holding a meeting of 29 legislators here. The LJP's latest move is seen as an effort to keep its flock together in view of reports about a threat of split over delay in the formation of a government. LJP leaders have admitted that party legislators were getting restless and putting pressure on Paswan to ally with one of the two rival parties. If one section is pressing for him to join forces with Lalu Prasad's RJD, another wants him to team up with the Janata Dal-United (JD-U).
The party, which has 29 seats in the 243-member assembly, holds the key to a popular government in the state, which is under president's rule after a fractured mandate. Paswan denied rumours of his legislators deserting over government formation and support to the RJD or BJP-led National Democratic Front (NDA). The political buzz here is that both parties are wooing the LJP legislators. The LJP legislature party leader Ramashray Prasad Singh said the party committee will initiate fresh talks with like-minded parties and hold discussions for forming a government.
"We will come out with a new formula for formation of government," he said. The JD-U has 55 and the BJP 37 seats; the two are 30 seats short of a majority in the state assembly. The RJD has 75 seats and enjoys the support of 10 Congress legislators and eight members of smaller parties as well as some of the 17 Independent legislators.
