Sep. 23, 2012
Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard commander warned that Iran will target US bases in the region in the event of war with Israel. Iran may be counting on the support from China and Russia to fight Israel-American attack on it.
The tension over Iran's nuclear program and Israel's suggestion that it might unilaterally strike Iranian nuclear facilities to stop Iran's nuclear bomb making effort triggered this aggressive statement from Iranian military commanders.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel declared recently that international diplomatic efforts and economic sanctions against Iran have failed to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions, and he has urged American President Barack Obama to set limits on Iranian efforts that would in initiate an American attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. American President has disagreed. President Obama has rejected these calls, saying diplomacy and US-led sanctions must be given more time for its way to work on Iran.
