"I came here for a wedding; I never expected such a thing," Badal said.

Badal, who is on a private visit to the US with several of his cabinet colleagues, reached Milwaukee area in Wisconsin on Wednesday and met the victims'' families.

On his arrival in Chicago , Badal urged the members of the Sikh community in the US to keep "peace and harmony" despite the incident , the worst for a small but strong community in the US. "Everybody is worried. We never expected such a thing would happen in the US," he said.
