EU wants Syria war crimes probe - Russia opposes fiercely, USA support fully

European diplomats were pressing today for the UN's top human rights body to propose a war crimes probe into last week's killing of over 100 civilians in Syria, a move that would be fiercely resisted by Russia but also is viewed with misgivings by other nations such as the USA.
Accordfing to Associated Press, The UN's top human rights official warned today that all-out civil war could engulf Syria unless countries back international envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan and calls for an independent probe into the killing of more than 100 civilians last week in the Arab country.
