In a complete U turn the Indian law enforcement agency is refusing to provide the file relating to equity sale by the two companies based on a petition filed by Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy.
The CBI now plans to file an affidavit in the special court hearing the 2G case that there was no formal exchange of letters between former finance minister P Chidambaram and former telecom minister A Raja on sale of shares by Unitech Wireless and Swan Telecom. The two companies were awarded pan-India licence to offer cellular services in 2008 for Rs 1,651 crore each.
A special court had directed the agency on Tuesday to provide the file relating to equity sale by the two companies based on a petition filed by Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy. The law enforcement agency plans to claim, there were no exchange of letters between the two former ministers.
