Ireland's National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) is buying an 88 billion euro ($120 billion) portfolio of toxic loans from Irish banks at a 58 percent discount, paying approximately 37 billion euros, NAMA stated Feb. 9.

NAMA acquired 71.2 billion euros of loans for 30.2 billion euros in 2010 and is scheduled to acquire additional residual loans of 5 billion euros in early 2011 as part of the original process, NAMA said.
