At least two people were killed and 17 others were wounded after Tunisian police opened fire to suppress an estimated 1,000 protesters that threw fire bombs and stones at El Kef's police station, a Tunisian Interior Ministry source stated Feb. 5.

Protesters gathered in front of the police station to demand the police chief's dismissal for power abuse while exercising his duties, a source said.
