Power to every Indian village, 78 million Indian homes deprived till today by 2009: PM Manmohan Singh

Still 78 million homes remote rural India does not have the electricity. This is in the process of changing.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced that a nationwide plan that promises to supply power to every village in India by 2009. The plan will send power to 78 million homes in rural areas that have not had electricity in the 58 years since India's independence. Singh also called for a non-partisan resolution for better economic generation, pricing and distribution of electricity.
