Pakistani militants have executed former Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officer

Pakistani militants have executed former Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officer Amir Sultan in the city of Mir Ali in North Waziristan after his family failed to pay a $590,000 ransom, local media reported, citing unnamed intelligence and rebel sources.

Sultan once trained Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar. A Taliban commander in Mir Ali said that the execution was "a sorrowful incident."
