Two Indian states Assam and Nagaland ready for all out war against each other
The Central Government intervention is required. Nagaland and Assam are ready to wage a physical and economic war against each other.
Assamese claim that Nagaland names a newly created village as the same as an area in the existing border area and later on claim the whole area as part of Nagaland. According to them this is going on for many years.
Nagaland shelved a plan to rename a village in Assam’s Golaghat district at the last moment, thus averting a possible bloodbath between police forces of the two neighbouring states even as sentiments ran high on this side of the border.
But the matter does not end here. The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has set a 15-day deadline for the state government and the Centre to clarify how they wanted to resolve the border row between the two states.
The AASU units of Jorhat, Golaghat and Sivasagar threatened that if they did not receive any positive response within the next 15 days, they would launch an economic blockade against Nagaland.
Assamese people as well as the Naga residents are tired of losing land to other. Bangladeshis have infiltrated Assam for ages and that has made the matter very sensitive. The Congress led UPA has neglected the matter to appease the Muslim for getting their votes. As a result Assam is real upset.
The central reserve force CRPF is expected to intervene something serious is going to happen between the two states. But the matter is just not of militancy. It is a political matter. The Indian Government needs to intervene and take care of these matters for the purpose of peace and prosperity of the Northeast India.
