Bharat Ratna for Sachin : A dream for Congress party and Sena

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who was in Nanded on Friday, said he will recommend Tendulkar's name for the Bharat Ratna to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Chavan's announcement comes two days after the Mumbai master blaster created a world record by scoring an unbeaten 200 runs in one-day international against South Africa. Tendulkar has already been conferred with the Padma Vibhushan (2008) and Padamshri (1999). A government official, requesting anonymity, said the Rashtrapati Bhavan would have "no problem in accepting Chavan's proposal as President (Pratibha) Patil is also a Sachin fan. so is the entire country."

Shiv Sena is also keen on the Bharat Ratna award for Sachin - the greatest Indian cricketer of all time.
