A strange anti-India coalition – China, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh? People and intellectuals of Nepal ready to revolt!
China’s political leaders are visiting Nepal. Pakistan and China already have a working coalition against India. Current Government of Bangladesh and the homegrown jihadists are probably more anti-Indian than Pakistan. And now we learn Nepal is having a close door session with Pakistan!
Nepal and Pakistan kicked off a two-day meeting in Kathmandu on March 29 to enhance economic ties between the two countries. A spokesman for the Nepalese Ministry of Finance said that the talks would focus on potential cooperation in areas such as trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, water resources and air transport.
India’s position to Nepal has been less than favorable after the King of Nepal discarded democracy and got rid of all political rights and freedom in the country.
According to experts, a strange coalition may form against India.
But people and the intellectuals of Nepal are not ready to take it at its face value.
Hundreds of Nepalese journalists defied a government ban on protests and demanded restoration of press freedoms in Nepal. Police closely monitored the protesters but, unlike previous protests, did not disperse them or arrest anyone involved. King Gyanendra suspended freedom of the press last month when he seized power and imposed emergency rule on the country.
