Early passive indication of Washington’s support for India’s membership to UN Security Council ? Washington upgrades ties with New Delhi
The recent American offers to sell India jet fighters, share civilian nuclear and space technology, and co-operate with energy policy point towards a growing coalition of the two largest democracies. India and America need each other.
The US measures, according to Indian External Affairs Ministry represents a concrete package to "upgrade" blossoming ties between the two countries.
India and American partnership ranges way beyond defense and fighting terrorism. It is trade and economic prosperity that can propel the cooperation between the two greatest nations of the east and the west.
If American corporate management techniques are combined with India’s scientific and technological talent, the world can be at awe for a long time.
The possibilities are endless. Once these two countries are able to break the ice and India establishes itself as a big generous brother in the sub-continent, the level of joint partnership between India and America can create miracle.
There may be very early indication that America is tending towards accepting India as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. The first concrete evidence came from the Australians who said they support India’s bid to the same.
India is fast becoming a major world power and our interest is in helping to integrate that world power into the existing power structure in the world," said Adam Ereli, US State Department deputy spokesman.
Spokesman for India's foreign ministry, Mr. Navtej Sarna said the joint talks showed an "understanding of India's growing energy requirements", thatleads to a joint "energy dialogue".
India is interested in technological innovation and cooperating with America to create quality and cost-effective services and products.
English as a language binds the two greatest democracies together. The new relationship is irreversible.
