10 years later India forgot to prosecute the people who caused Kargil – and now the biggest shame for India unfolds
Preetam Sohani
Jul. 23, 2009

It is time for remembering those who lost their lives in Kargil 10 years back. It is time not to forget those who caused Kargil. At the top of the list is former Pakistani dictator Musharraf, the biggest human rights abuser that American President George Bush handed over billions of dollars to fight terrorism! Yes, Musharraf fought terrorism!

Sadly Indian politicians forgot the Kargil war and the Indian heroes who saved Mother India’s prestige. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government has mostly looked since 2004 when it came to observing the anniversary of the BJP government-era war. President Pratibha Patil was requested to come to Drass, but declined, army sources said. It is unfortunate that Manmohan Singh made friends with US President George Bush who pampered Musharraf, the main culprit who caused Kargil.

“I think it’s just disgraceful. They are trying to politicise the issue for no reason,” retired Colonel VN Thapar, father of the late Kargil war hero Capt. Vijayant Thapar says. Before accepting American dominance and George Bush’s dance on humanity, Indian politicians, Manmohan Singh and his friends in New Delhi should have thought many times!

More than 520 soldiers died in the Kargil war. India’s Congress party does not even recognize these Indian jawans who saves Mother India from Mushraff’s blatant rape! It is a real shame that on July 26, the tenth anniversary day of India’s Kargil victory, current defense Minister A.K. Antony will only pay a wreath in New Delhi, staying away from the massive 10th anniversary celebration planned in the operational hub of Drass on the weekend when top generals from across India and the families of slain officers and soldiers are to arrive there.

They fled well in advance as planned. They did not fight. They wanted the West Bengal Marxist cops and Indian paramilitary forces to come and conquer just like Sunnis allowed George Bush’s American military in Iraq in 2003.
