Taliban hardpressed from US Marines on one side and sealed Pakistan border on the other

The US troops Thursday launched a major offensive against the Taliban in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province. US forced Pakistan to seal the border and capture escaping Taliban militia into Pakistan.

The Pakistan Army has already deployed additional troops at the border on the directives of the federal government.

A curfew has also been imposed in the border areas to stop the likely infiltration of Afghan militants.

The US troops Thursday launched a major offensive against the Taliban in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, a stronghold of the group, which borders the South Waziristan region of Pakistan.
